Grade: 12th
grade
During academic instruction there were a group of
students that were always loud in class while others were quiet students. In this
class all students have IEP’s several struggle in their subject but other have
behavior issues. Students A
from the loud group always called the name of student B from the quiet students that he wanted
to be his friend in a sarcastic voice. The teacher talked to Student A and ask to not make
statements or call the other classmates name while he is working. A week passed
and then Student B
was sitting behind Student A,
while the teacher was giving instructions Student A was talking so the teacher asked him to
explain to her what were the instructions. Student A responded correctly then turned around and
said “Student B
remember lesson day tomorrow” in a sarcastic voice, but this time Student B reacted and
stand up and started to say bad words in every phrase he was yelling, the teacher
asks him to sit down and calm down but Student B continued insulting Student A. Teacher asked Student B to go to the
office and while he was putting his stuff in his backpack, he continued to yell
at Student A. Principal
talked to him and confess that sometimes he felt really angry or frustrated for
this reason the principal suggested the teacher to move him away from that
group of students and to place him close to a door because if he felt this way
again he could just step out instead of causing a conflict with other student.
Once the teacher followed directions the classroom went
back to normal and it seemed that everything was fine. A week passed then one
day a students came in telling the teacher that he did not felt safe in the
class anymore because Student
B was in the class. Other students kept saying the teacher should know already
they have all our information and everything is on our IEP documents. The
teacher without knowing what was happening she asked what was happening, a
student got his phone and showed a capture of the criminal record of Student B. Student B did
not even know what was happening because he was focus on his game, assignment and
with his earphones on. The teacher ask students not to get into others personal
stuff and stated that it was something confidential. Students kept talking about
charges against Student B
o the teacher send an email to the principal in order to investigate. While administrators
were investigating the image was all over Snapchat. The principal called mom
and both decided that the best thing to do for him was to place him into afterschool
program for his safety because other student were saying that they were going
to do something afterschool.
