Hi, my name is Itzayana Alvarez and today I will be talking about some of the things that I learned in my ETC-447 NAU class. An important part from this class is that we learned how to use technology in the classroom in a safety way understanding ISTE Standards for educators. When the class started Mrs. Fernandez asked each student to create a philosophy of teaching, this philosophy should include how we as an educator would integrate technology.
My philosophy of teacher was:
As an educator my goal is to encourage lifelong learning as I share my enthusiasm of education. Teaching students to have confidence, become responsible and accountable as well as creating critical, creative and bold thinking. I will consider teaching new strategies that best works for me and my students, building community skills, active engagement, problem solving skills as well as incorporating technology for instruction. As a student and teacher, I also believe that creating a great communication with students is very important and one of the ways to build this communication is by giving them feedback or advices.
Technology in the classroom is very significant and beneficial. Technology helps students to have a visual and auditory understanding. There are many students that learn in different ways and demonstrating our instruction with technology will help many students to have a supportive learning. There are many ways to incorporate technology but adding simple technology such as PowerPoint, quiz games, online assignments as well as sharing comments and grades online are some examples would help students to have choices to their learning as well as gaining knowledge of the different ways to use technology. Technology also makes teaching fun and interactive. Using technology also will prepare students for their future because these days technology is drastically improving every day.
After everything we have learned in this class, I would change my technology portion adding guidance of how students would use technology in a safe and legal matter.

Learner
We as educators need to improve our practices in order to have students learn in new ways or explore new methods, lessons, strategies. Technology is always changing and adding things and if you learn you can apply all those new things to your class and this way you can help students to be up to date with new technology.
In class:
Teachers demonstrating their learning using a variety of digital ways. (Digital posters, blogs, portfolios, works of art, etc.)
Leader
Looking for opportunities in the way to be a leader improving students empowerment and success through access to educational technology.
In classroom:
Teacher will use new technology resources and learning tools to meet the different needs of their students.
Citizen
Technology model digital citizen with a clear understanding of data and privacy. Creating a positive environment where to become respectful and responsible when using technology. Mentor students to be safe and legal with digital tools and protect digital identity.
In classroom:

CLEAR UNDERSTANDING OF DATA PRIVACY
Examples: not sharing passwords, personal information.
Collaborator
Collaborate with others teachers as well as students in order to integrate technology engage wit others and classmates for their learning accomplishments demonstrating interaction communicate with student’s parents and other teachers.
In the classroom:
Being able to rework someone else ideas and explain them. Make custom/ unique message to explain work. You can use interactive charts and graphs, concept maps, etc.
Designer
Design the learning experience to leverage affective user of technology. Input and best practices to design a learning experience. Exploring and applying the use of technology adapting new improvements.
In the classroom:
Teachers will use the appropriate technology (digital tools) in order to solve problems and create solutions.
Examples:
Brainstorming, storyboard, role play, etc.
Facilitator
Manage the use of the technology and teaching strategies to provide students support and student accomplishments. Creating learning opportunities by innovating their thinking and problem-solving skills communicating ideas knowledge connections.

SOLVE IT
Putting things together to solve a problem
Examples:
calculator, resources, graphs, charts, videos
Analyst
Use of technology and data to inform instruction and provide immediate feedback to students.
In the classroom
Teachers use these tools to make connections to real world problems to help you understand and answer them. You will create presentations, portfolios, projects, videos to demonstrate your connections or conclusions.
